I am adding this food to my list because it is the most affordable and accessible kibble that Open Farm makes, and this makes my heart happy. Within this brand, I still prefer their RawMix or Gently Cooked line, but this food has some features I never see in other kibbles that makes me eager to add it here. Firstly, it is a baked food (instead of the traditional extruded ultra processed kibbles), ie it is a bit less processed which I am always for. All of the proteins in Goodbowl are confirmed humanely and sustainably sourced, which is extremely rare in the kibble space. If you are looking to upgrade your kibble but are worried about costs, this may be a good start to consider. Just don’t forget, adding pet safe real fresh food toppers (example: blueberries, no salt bone broth, no salt canned sardines in water) can be a great way to add moisture and nutrition to the bowl. Vets agree that replacing ~10% of each meal with these fresh foods can be highly beneficial!
